 Mechanical Design

3D Parts are designed in digital environment with Unigraphics (UG). These models are used for further applications such as Finite Element (FE) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis and CAM applications as required.

2D drawings are prepared by using UG according to international aerospace standards.

 Finite Element Analysis

Finite Element Analysis are widely used at TEI-R&D to calculate stress, strain, displacement, temperature etc. in engine parts/assemblies under various loads such as structural, dynamic and thermal.

 Aero Design & Analysis

The aero design of different components is performed by using analytical and computational approaches. In the preliminary aero design process, in-house developed codes are used to create a baseline geometry. Subsequently, this geometry is optimized by using CFD. The main aim of the CFD analysis is to determine the aerodynamic properties of the flow such as pressure, temperature and velocity distributions on the observed geometry and to have a detailed idea of the flow characteristics such as flow separation, shock waves etc. . The results of the CFD analysis are also used as boundary conditions in structural and thermal analysis.

 Special Test Equipment Design

TEI is responsible for developing and manufacturing special test equipment required to test the TP400 engine. Examples:

     - FTIU (Full Authority Digital Electronic Control        Test Interface Unit)
     - Engine lifting device
     - Engine transporter trailer
     - Bellmouth, etc.
