Advanced technology new generation fighter aircraft design and production will be accomplished with the "JSF (Joint Strike Fighter)" project with the participation of nine countries including Turkey. Along with Turkey, countries that are participating in the JSF project are USA, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Norway.
TEI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with General Electric at the Farnborough International Aerospace Exhibition 2004 held in the United Kingdom to participate in the design and production activities of the F136 engine developed by General Electric-USA and Rolls-Royce-UK.
The JSF aircraft in development will replace the F-14-F-16, F/A-18, A10 and Harrier aircraft. JSF aircraft developed with a single engine will be produced in 3 different models by Lockheed Martin.
This project will be an important milestone for the Turkish aviation industry in the aspect of integrating with the global world, the engine parts delivery will start in the 2010s following the design and development activities. |
