 J85 Ejector System Development

Thrust increase and fuel saving have been achieved by designing a new ejector for the J85 engines used on T-38 and F-5 aircraft. TEI has undertaken the following activities:

     - Design
     - Development
     - Certification
     - Production
     - Marketing

The flight tests conducted at Edwards Air Force Base (California, USA) on August 2000 proved significant performance increase on T-38 aircraft.

TEI continues to be the sole manufacturer of the new ejector kit.

New ejectors are used by NASA and USAF.

 A400M-TP400

The A400M project involves design, development and production of a new military cargo aircraft which will replace C-130 and C-160 aircraft that are currently in use in European countries. The project coordination is maintained by Airbus Military Company.

The TP400 engine, selected to power the A400M Aircraft, will be manufactured by EPI (EuroProp International) member companies. TEI participates to the program as a Risk and Revenue Sharing Partner with ITP (Industria de Turbo Propulsores SA) from Spain.

TEI owns design responsibilities of the following TP400 Engine Modules :

     - Front Bearing Structure
     - Primary Nozzle
     - Special Test Equipment

The design and development of these modules will be accomplished by TEI engineers until 2009. TEI will also be the sole manufacturing source for these modules.

 JSF-Joint Strike Fighter

Advanced technology new generation fighter aircraft design and production will be accomplished with the "JSF (Joint Strike Fighter)" project with the participation of nine countries including Turkey. Along with Turkey, countries that are participating in the JSF project are USA, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Norway.

TEI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with General Electric at the Farnborough International Aerospace Exhibition 2004 held in the United Kingdom to participate in the design and production activities of the F136 engine developed by General Electric-USA and Rolls-Royce-UK.

The JSF aircraft in development will replace the F-14-F-16, F/A-18, A10 and Harrier aircraft. JSF aircraft developed with a single engine will be produced in 3 different models by Lockheed Martin.

This project will be an important milestone for the Turkish aviation industry in the aspect of integrating with the global world, the engine parts delivery will start in the 2010s following the design and development activities.
