TEI, which is Türkiye's global value in aviation engines, signed a 12-month cooperation agreement with the General Directorate of Military Factories (AFGM) at the SAHA EXPO.
The signing ceremony, held on the 2nd day of SAHA EXPO, was attended by Prof. Mahmut F. Akşit, TEI CEO, Imdat Ersoy, AFGM General Manager and their accompanying delegations.
Within the scope of the agreement signed, TEI will provide services to AFGM in the maintenance, repair, test activities of Makila 1A1 engines powering the Cougar helicopters that are in used in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, as well as the provision of accident-incident inspection, renewal, depot level maintenance, modification and on-site repair service supports.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Aksit, “As TEI, we have been working together with AFGM for many years. We have been maintaining Makila 1A1 engines in our Eskişehir Campus for a long time. We are very pleased with the cooperation we will continue with this agreement.", said. Addressing to the importance of AFGM's capabilities developed within its structure, Akşit said, "I have good news for you. Our negotiations on the production in our country of GE LM2500 engines used in MILGEMs have reached a certain stage. We are striving to bring the ability to produce this engine worldwide with official status under license to our country. Hopefully, we sign this agreement together soon.”
