TEI owns a high-tech assembly and testing facility, including a Turbofan Engine Test Cell with a maximum capacity of 100,000 lbs and two Turboshaft Engine Test Cells of 3400 shp and 2500 shp maximum capacities .
In the 100.000 lbs-capacity Turbofan Engine Test Cell, final tests of F110 engines powering the F16 fighters in the inventories of Turkish Air Force Command and Oman Air Force were performed following their assembly in TEI and currently tests of TF33 engines of NATO's Airborne Warning & Control System Aircraft (AWACS) is being carried out.
In addition, tests of T700-TEI-701D engines, which are being manufactured by TEI as part of Turkish Utility Helicopter Project is conducted in the 3400 shp-capacity Turboshaft Engine Test Cell, along with the Makila 1A1 engines, which power the Eurocopter AS532 Cougar helicopters in Turkish Armed Forces inventory, are being tested in the 2500 shp-capacity Turboshaft Engine Test Cell.
TEI has been providing Depot-Level Maintenance service for TF33 engines of NATO AWACS aircraft since 1999. Thanks to its successful services in this field, it was selected as the "Best Engine Maintenance Company" by NSPA and IAMCO in 2004, 2008 and 2011.
TEI also offers ENSIP/SLEP upgrade services for the F110-GE-100 engines of Royal Bahrain Air Force and overhaul of the F110-GE-129C engines of Royal Saudi Air Force is carried out at TEI facilities.
Depot-Level Maintenance of Makila 1A1 engines of the Cougar Helicopters in the inventory of Turkish Armed Forces is also carried out at TEI.
In addition to the aforementioned operations, MRO capability for the Utility Helicopter Engine to be included soon in the inventory of Turkish Armed Force (TAF) is planned to be acquired at this new MRO premises; and relying on this new capability, TEI aims to provide MRO operations for the current T700 Inventory in its region also.
TEI has the required international certificates to be a part of the global competition within the scope of MRO operations, to provide services in compliance with international standards by aiming high quality and sustainability. TEI has been certificated in accordance with EN/AS 9110 standard, which describes the requirements of quality management system for aviation maintenance organizations, and it has also been certified as EASA Part 145 approved maintenance organization by European Aviation Safety Agency.
