Turbodiesel Aviation Engine
TEI-PD170 Turbodiesel Aviation Engine, which is the output of the project initiated under the auspices of the Presidency of Defense Industries to develop Türkiye's first indigenous and national aviation engine to meet the power needs of MALE (Medium Altitude Long Endurance) class UAVs, has a power generation capacity of 172 HP (±2).
TEI-PD170, which is ahead of its competitors in terms of altitude capabilities and fuel consumption, has a two-stage serial turbocharging system. TEI-PD170 engine, which can be operated with JP-8 or Jet-A1 fuel, draws attention with its dry weight of 162 kg. TEI-PD170 engine, designed in accordance with civil aviation standards, has a service ceiling of 45,000 ft. and has a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), which is produced and software developed by TEI.
TEI-PD170 engine made its maiden flight with the ANKA on December 27, 2018, and continues its flights with AKSUNGUR. TEI-PD170 engine has alsı been utilized in flight missions on the Bayraktar TB3 platform.
After intensive calibration and testing activities, TEI-PD170 reached the mass production stage in 2019.
TEI-PD170 Turbodiesel Aviation Engine has 40,000+ ft. altitude and the longest flight records in a single sortie of 45 hours with AKSUNGUR.
