TEI Bid Farewell to 2020 with Two Awards

TEI, as a Turkish company, received 2 awards at the “I AmChamPion Awards” ceremony, which rewards prices to Turkish and American companies that support improvement of economic relations between Turkey and the US. Republic of Turkey Deputy President Fuat Oktay attended the online award ceremony, which awarded companies in 12 different categories, as a speaker.

The Chariman and CEO of TEI, Prof. Mahmut F. Akşit received the “Turkish Company with the Highest Contribution to Exports in Turkey Through the Best Digital Transformation” and “Turkish Company with the Highest Contribution to Exports from Turkey with an American Partnership” awards.

TEI Chariman and CEO, Prof. Mahmut F. Akşit, who accepted the awards on behalf of TEI presented by TEI Member of The Board of Directors and GE Aviation Turkey Technology Center General Manager Dr. Aybike Molbay and UPS Turkey General Manager Burak Kılıç opened his speech by thanking the organization committee and everyone involved in the organization of the event. Noting that they have increased their export figures by 2.5 times in the last decade, Akşit underlined that with the sales amount of $346 million they achieved in 2019, TEI’s contribution to Turkish economy since its foundation reached $5.2 bn. Akşit further added that by meeting the obligatory criteria of the latest versions of AS9100 and AS9110 Quality Management System certificates in the sector, they became the second company holding both certificates in the world and that also with the 52 special process management they can implement with certificates in the “special processes” area, which has a significant place in aviation industry, they became the number one company in the world as of September 2017. Reminding that with the votes of leading aviation engine manufactures in the world within the past years, they received two consecutive “Best Supplier” awards, Akşit thanked all TEI employees, who made these awards possible, for all their hard work.

Akşit also mentioned the cooperation they have with GE Digital for digital transformation and underlined that with investments exceeding million dollars each year, they are striving to transfer strict inspection conditions in the aviation sector to digital medium; that the internet of things is the main area in terms of digital transformation they focus on in the factory in general.
