The final stage of the Jet Engine Design Competition, organized under TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest aviation, space and technology festival, and led by TEI, is being held at the Diyarbakır Mesopotamia International Fair and Congress Center from September 18 to 20, 2026.
The Jet Engine Design Competition aims to increase the interest of university students and recent engineering graduates in aviation engines and enhance their engineering capabilities in this field. As part of the competition, participants designed a variable, axisymmetric, convergent-divergent nozzle for a turbofan engine producing 6,000 lbf of thrust. Throughout the competition, teams were evaluated based on their Conceptual Design Reports and Detailed Design Reports. The teams that successfully completed these stages and qualified for the finals are presenting their designs to the jury in Diyarbakır.
Through the Jet Engine Design Competition, carried out in line with the National Competency Initiative vision of the Secretariat of Defence Industries, TEI contributes to enhancing young people’s capabilities in aviation engines and developing the qualified human resources Türkiye needs in this field.
Following the final presentations in Diyarbakır, the top three teams will be announced and receive their awards at TEKNOFEST Şanlıurfa.
