Testing Infrastructure Design Agreement for National Helicopter Engine TS1400 was Signed

A cooperation agreement was signed between TEKFEN Engineering, Inc. and TUSAŞ Engine Industries, Inc. (TEI) for detailed design services of testing infrastructures to be established within the scope of Turboshaft Engine Development Project (TEDP) conducted by TEI in order to meet the engine requirement for GÖKBEY General Purpose Helicopter, being developed by Turkish Aerospace under the auspices of Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Secretariat of Defence Industries, using domestic and national resources.

The signing ceremony held in Premises of TEI in Eskişehir was attended by Prof. Mahmut F. Akşit, Chairman and CEO of TEI, and Fatih Can, President of Tekfen Engineering as well as executives of the two companies.

For the testing facilities to be established, TEKFEN Engineering will provide detailed design services of test systems, technical management of supply processes, supervision services for assembly, installation, testing and commissioning.

Thanks to the testing infrastructures to be established with the Project, testing of compressors, combustion chambers and turbine modules of aviation engines will be carried out with minimum cost and modification. While module tests are intended to attain aerothermal working characteristics of modules, test results will enable to check accuracy of design and analysis tools and ensure improvement of analysis models.
