The signing ceremony of three new R&D projects, initiated under the leadership of the Secretariat of Defence Industries with TEI as the main contractor, was held at the Nuri Demirağ Conference Hall of the Secretariat of Defence Industries with the participation of Prof. Haluk Görgün, Secretariat of Defence Industries, Turkish Armed Forces, academia and industry representatives. On 17 January, Prof. Fahrettin Öztürk, Chairman of TEI, attended the "Signing Ceremony of R&D Projects Launched in 2023" on behalf of TEI.
During the ceremony, the SİCİM, ÖTEKTİK and AMETİST projects, which are carried out under the main contractorship of TEI, were signed. With these projects, which are being carried out under the leadership of the Secretariat of Defence Industries, TEI will work on three new projects for the development of critical materials used in critical parts of aviation engines.
The SİCİM Project aims to develop ceramic fibre and ceramic matrix composite materials for use in hot zone turbine parts of aviation engines; the ÖTEKTİK Project aims to develop ceramic matrix composite materials for use in hot zone turbine parts of aviation engines; and the AMETİST Project aims to develop processes for aluminium alloy and nickel-based superalloy metal matrix composite materials to be used in aviation engines.
