TEI, Türkiye's leading aviation engine company, signed a five-year cooperation agreement with the General Directorate of Military Factories (AFGM) at IDEF 2025.
The signing ceremony, held on the second day of the 17th International Defense Industry Fair IDEF 2025, was attended by TEI's CEO, Prof. Mahmut F. Akşit, AFGM General Manager İmdat Ersoy, and their respective delegations.
TEI completed maintenance and repair activities for nearly 150 Makila 1A1 engines and modules to date using the repair capabilities of the 1st Air Maintenance Factory Directorate. Under the signed contract, TEI will provide AFGM with maintenance, repair, and testing services for Makila 1A1 engines powering Cougar helicopters in service with the Turkish Armed Forces, as well as accident investigation, refurbishment, depot-level maintenance, modification, and on-site repair support services.
With this agreement, which is of critical importance for the operational readiness of Cougar helicopters actively used by the Turkish Armed Forces, TEI will continue to undertake repair and maintenance activities for Makila 1A1 engines and modules for five years, with the support of the 1st Air Maintenance Factory Directorate.
