TEI was awarded the Awareness-Raising Institution Award for its work as part of the TULIP Environmental Awards, which recognize companies' efforts in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the TULIP Sustainability Center.
The award was given in the field of “Decent Work and Economic Growth,” the 8th of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. TEI won this award for its work in returning waste oil collected from its production activities to the Turkish economy.
TEI, Türkiye's leading aviation engine company, also considers the environmental impact of its production activities and carries out various projects in many areas, from waste management to energy efficiency, from the conservation of natural resources to industrial symbiosis applications. As an example of these efforts, the “Waste Oil Recovery” project saw motor and hydraulic waste oils collected from TEI facilities recycled at an 80% rate outside the facilities, thereby returning mineral oils such as hydraulic oil, motor oil, and grease, as well as asphaltic materials, to the Turkish economy.
