Development of Aluminum Casting Processes for Aerospace
The Development of Aluminum Casting Processes for Aviation (ASLAN) Project aims to develop and validate the aluminum block casting and manufacturing processes of the TEI-PD170 Turbodiesel Aviation Engine used in UAVs. Within the scope of the project, A201 alloy engine block casting and manufacturing capability will be gained with national facilities for the indigenous piston engine, and an engine block suitable for use in UAVs will be manufactured.
Altun Döküm Sanayi A.Ş. is the main subcontractor in the ASLAN Project supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). The ASLAN Project, in which Altun Döküm will carry out process development activities and prototype manufacturing within the scope of the project, started in 2020 and will last 46 months.
